How do I join?
To join just visit the Library. Please bring two forms of ID, including proof of your residential address.
Can I pay for my items tomorrow?
All items need to be paid for at the time they are issued.
How do I renew my books?
You can renew your books online, by phone or in person at the Library.
How long can I use the internet for and how much does it cost?
You are able to have one half hour session per day. The use of the internet is free and provided for under the Aotearoa People's Network Kaharoa initiative.
Are you open over the weekend?
You can click on the Opening Hours and Locations to find out when the Library is open.
Can I access the catalogue from home?
Yes, you can click on the Online Library Catalogue to search the catalogue from home.
What is my pin?
Your pin number is the last 4 digits of your library card number. This can be changed at any time.
Lost your card or forgotten your pin?
You need to contact us immediately. The Library Team will reset your pin and/or issue you with a new card next time you come to the Library. Please bring photo ID with you.
Does it cost anything to request a book?
Yes, requests cost 50 cents. If you would like the item posted directly to you a small fee will apply.
How will I know when my request is ready to collect?
The Library Team will contact you by phone or email.
What if I can't find an item I want?
You can request the item from other Libraries. Please ask the Library Team for an interloan request.
What does it cost to borrow and how long can I keep an item?
- Rental Fiction - Books up to 4 years old (21 day loan) $0.50
- Free Fiction - Books over 4 years old (21 day loan) Free
- Bestseller Collection (14 day loan) $4.00
- Non Fiction (21 day loan) Free
- Rental Talking Books (21 day loan) Free
- Talking Books (21 day loan) Free
- Requests to other Libraries $5.00 (minimum per item)
- CD Rental (7 day loan) $3.00
- DVD Rental (7 day loan) $4.00
- Console Games (7 day loan) $5.00
- Magazines (7 day loan) $1.00
Are there fines for late returns?
Yes, overdue items are charged for.
- Bestsellers, DVD's, CD's and Console Games - $1.00 per item, per day
- All other items - 50 cents per item, per day
