Council manages and promotes two major District events, being the Great NZ Muster and the Waitomo District Christmas Parade.

Well managed District events are a specific marketing tool that can increase awareness of a destination and create a point of difference for a Community. Events generate economic activity and support the social, and cultural well-being of the Waitomo District Community.
