Wastewater network inspections in Piopio and Maniaiti/Benneydale

Council contractors are currently in Maniaiti/Benneydale and Piopio townships inspecting sewer systems and drains as part of a project to identify potential risks to the network. As part of the inspections, staff may undertake visual checks on private stormwater and wastewater outlets including gully traps and downpipes.

SH3 Awakino Gorge CLOSED

NZTA have CLOSED SH3 through the Awakino Gorge because significant rainfall has made the route unsafe for travel. The closure is in place from the rest area near the Awakino Historic Tunnel through to the intersection of SH3 with Manganui Road.
