Refuse Transfer Stations
Council provides Refuse Transfer Stations at strategic locations throughout the Waitomo District.

Council's Refuse Transfer Stations are supervised during opening hours and provide Recycling Facilities.
Council also provides an un-manned recycling station in Waitomo Village adjacent to the park on Waitomo Caves Road. This station is for small volumes of recycling.
Waitomo District Landfill
Waitomo District Landfill is a modern day lined landfill that complies with all necessary Resource Consent conditions and accepts all forms of refuse except for hazardous waste (PDF, 558 Kb) substances.
The Landfill is currently under development with the construction of a new lined cell and also the development of a new Transfer Station to accommodate residential waste.
The development is to allow better access to recycling facilities, improved safety for the residential user (by separating the general and the commercial users) and will offer landscape supplies and a 2nd hand shop at the kiosk.
