Shearing Statue

Rora Street, Te Kūiti

This 6.1 metre tall statue weighs 7.5 tones and took 12 months to complete. 
The statue was unveiled on 25 March 1994.  Three time capsules sealed within the statue will be opened in 2024, 2054 and 2084.

 

Tatsuno Japanese Gardens

South End Rora Street, Te Kūiti

This garden was established in 1998 as a gift to provide a permanent and tangible symbol of the importance of the Sister City relationship that has developed between the Waitomo District Community and the Tatsuno Town Council in Japan.
