Join the annual Coastcare-Waikato weekend planting bee on the wild west coast!
Nukuhakari station is a large sheep and cattle farm on the west coast, north of Awakino exposed to the prevailing westerly winds with extensive landward migrating dunes now covering several hectares of both frontal and backdune environments. We've been working with the landowners here to restore dune vegetation to reduce further sand movement onto the land here.
This is a beautiful spot - we have on-site accommodation at the shearers quarters if you'd like to stay the Fri and/or Sat night. There are only ten places available so get in quick if you want to join us.
