The WDC Customer Services and Visitor Hub, Waitomo District Library and Admin Building will be closed on on Friday 6 February for Waitangi Day. All waste transfer stations will also be closed.
We will still be available by phone on 0800 932 4357. More info

Change of days to temporary Awakino Waste Transfer Station schedule
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to change the open days of the Awakino Waste Transfer Station for the last week of the extended holiday schedule.
It will now open from 9am to 1pm on the following days:
Sunday
Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
The normal schedule will for Awakino Transfer Station will resume Sunday 8 February 2026.

Notice of Meeting - Piopio Wastewater Treatment PlantCommunity Liaison Group

Thursday 24 August 2017, 5.30pm

Pursuant to an Order of Court and approved Conditions of Consent for Discharge Permit 117290 dated 17 February 2011, the Waitomo District Council wishes to invite interested parties to attend the annual meeting of the Piopio Wastewater Treatment Plant Community Liaison Group.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide feedback and comment on environmental issues relating to the operation of the Piopio Wastewater Treatment Plant. 

This meeting will be convened on Thursday 24 August 2017 at the Piopio Hall, on the corner of Moa Street (State Highway 3) and Weka Street, Piopio commencing at 5.30pm.
