The WDC Customer Services and Visitor Hub, Waitomo District Library and Admin Building will be closed on on Monday 26 January for Auckland Anniversary. All waste transfer stations will also be closed.

Metservice has issued a heavy rain watch and strong wind watch for our district. The watch is valid from 9am Wednesday, 21 January 2026 to 3am Thursday 22 January.

Road and WDC Service Information - Auckland Anniversary 2019

Our roads maintenance contractor has spread grit on the road surfaces today in areas where we have noticed the bitumen bleeding (tar melting) - this regularly occurs in hot weather.

If you would like to report a roading issue you can call us 24-7 on 0800 932 4357.

Auckland Anniversary Service Information 

Our Queen Street office is closed Monday 28 January. For after hours services please call 0800 932 4357.

Waitomo District Aquatic Centre is open from 1pm - 5pm.

Waitomo District Library is closed.

Te Kuiti i-SITE Visitor Information Centre is open from 10am - 2pm.

Waitomo District Landfill is closed.

Transfer Stations: Kinohaku and Marokopa Transfer Stations are open 9am - 1pm.

Awakino, Benneydale and Piopio Transfer Stations are closed.

There are no Kerbside Refuse and Recycling Collection services taking place as per normal.
