Water Alert Level 2 - PIopio
Due to operational issues and the current hot weather, Piopio township will move into Level 2 water restriction from tomorrow - Friday 6 February 2026.
Water conservation measures are required to reduce demand on the water treatment plant. We ask Piopio residents to be mindful of their water use.
Water shutdown notice - William Street and adjoining streets
A water shutdown will be happening from 9am to 3.30pm today along William Street and adjoining streets. This is to allow council contractor Schick Civil to commission a new watermain line. Thank you for your understanding.

Our Queen Street office is closed on Thursday 6 February 2020. For After Hours services please call 0800 932 4357.

Waitomo District Aquatic Centre is open from 1pm - 5pm.

Waitomo District Library is closed.

Te Kuiti i-SITE Visitor Information Centre is open 10am - 2pm.

Waitomo District Landfill is open from 9am - 4pm.

Kinohaku, Awakino and Marokopa Transfer Stations are closed as per normal.

Benneydale and Piopio Transfer Stations are closed as per normal.

Kerbside Refuse and Recycling Collection Services - there are no services taking place as per normal.
