The reason for the review is in accordance with section 41(4) of the Reserves Act 1977 we are required to keep the Reserve Management Plan under continuous review to be adapted for changing circumstances or in accordance with increased knowledge.

We are proposing to review the RMP to make some minor amendments:
1. Allow for access to the parcels of land behind the skate park.
2. Update the name of the Piopio Village Green to Te Nohoanga, which means - a place of settlement. A place to call home.

This name was gifted by mana whenua and is in accordance with the requirements of the conditions of the sale and purchase agreement when Council purchased the land.

3. Minor updates to definitions to align with new legislation.

Submissions on the review close on Friday, 13 February 2026 at 12pm.
