Postponement again of official opening and blessing of the Mangaokewa Walkway Cultural Storyboards

Waitomo District Council, with the support of Ngāti Rōrā, have made a call to POSTPONE the official opening and blessing of the Mangaokewa Walkway Cultural Storyboards for the second time.This is due to the heavy rain forecast for the rest of the week. The ground will be wet and the weather looks worse for Friday (26 September 2025). It's important to us that this significant occasion is done correctly. We will schedule another blessing to be held later in the year when the weather has improved.

Rural Health Roadshow - Te Kūiti

Hon Matt Doocey, Associate Health Minister with responsibility for Rural Health and Minister for Mental Health, is visiting rural communities to hear about local health care and how the Government can better support communities and people working in rural health. 

The events are open to health professionals and members of the public.
