Mobile Shop, Mobile Trader, Stalls & Hawkers Permit

Application Information:

* Please note: this permit does not permit you to serve food or alcohol. A separate food registration and alcohol licence is required.

Licence Required

No person, including Hawkers, Mobile Shops, Mobile Trader and Stalls shall in any public place engage in the sale of goods or services of any description whatsoever, without first having obtained a licence from Council.

No person shall cause nuisance or create harm or expose the public to risk while undertaking their activity.

No Hawkers, Mobile Shops, Mobile Trader and Stalls may trade in any place or area except those identified in Schedule 3, or in a location approved by Council.

Mobile Shop

Mobile shop trading is the activity of offering goods or services for sale from any stand, stall, structure, awning, table or vehicle that is regularly moved.

Please note: Hawkers, Mobile Shops, Mobile Trader and Stalls are not permitted to operate within the Waitomo District Council (WDC) area except for those that have the prior written permission of WDC.

Hawkers Licence

A Hawkers Licence offers goods for sale, sometimes on foot, without prior invitation to visit that private or public place.

Please note: Hawkers, Mobile Shops, Mobile Trader and Stalls are not permitted to operate within the Waitomo District Council (WDC) area except for those that have the prior written permission of WDC.
