What does the Waitomo District mean to you?

To celebrate Youth Week 2026, we are inviting all tamariki and rangatahi in our district aged between 5 years and 24 years to design a flag that represents what Waitomo District means to you.

Download an entry form or pick one up from Waitomo District Library or our Customer Services and Visitor Hub.

Then get designing!!!

Your flag should represent what the Waitomo District means to you. Please also describe your flag design.

The winning flag(s) will be used to celebrate our rangatahi youth and will
be on display throughout our district.

We will choose a flag design for each town in our district:

• Maniaiti/Benneydale

• Piopio

• Te Kūiti

• Waitomo

• Mōkau

Entries are open to young people aged between 5 years and 24 years.
