Heavy rain watch

A heavy rain watch has been issued for our district. The watch is valid until 6pm Friday 27 March.
Periods of heavy rain. Amounts may exceed warning criteria in localised areas, especially ranges. Moderate chance of upgrading to a Warning.
Take some time now to get prepared in case the weather gets worse. Stay safe, drive safely and take care while out and about.

Kerbside Recycling and Refuse Collection Service

15 Feb 2013, 10:10 AM

By taking the time to prepare your recyclables for collection, you will be able to fit more items into your green bin, without having to overfill it.

Recyclables such as plastic types 1 & 2, glass bottles and jars, aluminium and tin cans should be stacked, washed and squashed (remove lids).

Secure and stack cardboard and paper and place these items next to your green bin.

  • Only residential volumes of recyclables will be accepted (same volume as green bin). Larger volumes of recyclables can be recycled at the Landfill.
  • Only WDC blue refuse bags will be accepted.

The kerbside collection services will no longer accept:

  • Dark grey refuse bags
  • Un-recyclable items in Green Bins.
  • Overfilled Green Bins
  • Recyclables in other bins.

Thank you for your support in reducing recyclable waste going to Landfill and for supporting our local environment.
