Public notification: Military funeral on Sunday in Te Kūiti.

A forward notice that there will be firing of blank cartridges which produce loud bangs in support of a military funeral sometime between the hours of 1.30pm to 3pm on Sunday in Te Kūiti.

There will be soldiers marching around the town in support of the funeral ceremonial event with weapons, so please do not be alarmed or concerned.

There will also be a road closure at the intersections near the Les Munro Centre in both directions on Sunday 15 March. The closure will be in place at 12.30pm to 1pm. 

Soldier presence in Te Kūiti will be prominent from Saturday afternoon and will increase up to 100+ on the Sunday for the funeral.

New Marketing role - Timber Trail

Play a part in developing the Timber Trail cycleway, one of New Zealand’s Great Rides 

An opportunity has arisen for a person with a background in tourism marketing.  We are looking for someone that has a keen interest in the Waitomo and Ruapehu Districts and who would like to assist in ensuring that the Timber Trail becomes firmly established as a key tourism experience in the area.

Your previous experience and ability shall include the development and implementation of tactical marketing programmes.  We need someone with experience and sound knowledge of digital marketing tools.

Proven and demonstrated experience of working with a wide and diverse group of stakeholders including Councils, Regional Tourism Organisations, DOC and tourism operators will be important in establishing the role and getting the job done.

The role is a contract position, 25 hours a week, fixed term to June 2018.
