Public notification: Military funeral on Sunday in Te Kūiti.

A forward notice that there will be firing of blank cartridges which produce loud bangs in support of a military funeral sometime between the hours of 1.30pm to 3pm on Sunday in Te Kūiti.

There will be soldiers marching around the town in support of the funeral ceremonial event with weapons, so please do not be alarmed or concerned.

There will also be a road closure at the intersections near the Les Munro Centre in both directions on Sunday 15 March. The closure will be in place at 12.30pm to 1pm.

KERBSIDE RECYCLING COLLECTION SERVICE

We are in the process of collecting old green bins and delivering a new green bin to properties that currently receive the Kerbside Collection Service. We will first collect the recycling (as per normal), then collect the old bins, and finally deliver a new green bin. This process will take place throughout the day of delivery. Please place your old green bin on the kerbside by 8am on the day of collection, regardless of whether there are recycling items in the bin or not.

  • Friday 4 August - Eastern side of Te Kuiti (Rora St side of railway line)
  • Tuesday 8 August - Waitomo ward.

We are doing this because the old bins have been in circulation for seven years now and some are in bad condition, while some properties do not have a bin at all.

The green bins are provided by WDC for the Kerbside Recycling Collection Service. WDC is replacing the old bin and all old bins will be withdrawn. Only the new green bin can be used as part of this service.

Please mark your property’s address on the new bin.

If you would like to speak with us about the Kerbside Collection Service please phone 0800 932 4357.
