Public notification: Military funeral on Sunday in Te Kūiti.

A forward notice that there will be firing of blank cartridges which produce loud bangs in support of a military funeral sometime between the hours of 1.30pm to 3pm on Sunday in Te Kūiti.

There will be soldiers marching around the town in support of the funeral ceremonial event with weapons, so please do not be alarmed or concerned.

There will also be a road closure at the intersections near the Les Munro Centre in both directions on Sunday 15 March. The closure will be in place at 12.30pm to 1pm. 

Soldier presence in Te Kūiti will be prominent from Saturday afternoon and will increase up to 100+ on the Sunday for the funeral.

Transfer Station Attendant – Casual 

We are looking for a reliable and motivated person to work on a casual basis at our Transfer Stations located throughout the Waitomo District.

In this role you will work sole charge and be responsible for:

  • Opening and closing the Transfer Station to the public
  • Customer service
  • Cash handling
  • Sorting recycling to ensure environmental compliance is met
  • Operating and maintaining the Transfer Station facility in a safe and tidy manner

This position would suit someone who is customer focused and community minded.

Library Assistant (Part Time)

This position is for 1 hour per day, Monday to Friday and would ideally suit a student. A minimum of three years secondary schooling is required.
