Public notification: Military funeral on Sunday in Te Kūiti.

A forward notice that there will be firing of blank cartridges which produce loud bangs in support of a military funeral sometime between the hours of 1.30pm to 3pm on Sunday in Te Kūiti.

There will be soldiers marching around the town in support of the funeral ceremonial event with weapons, so please do not be alarmed or concerned.

There will also be a road closure at the intersections near the Les Munro Centre in both directions on Sunday 15 March. The closure will be in place at 12.30pm to 1pm. 

Soldier presence in Te Kūiti will be prominent from Saturday afternoon and will increase up to 100+ on the Sunday for the funeral.

Applications for Community Funding Discretionary Grants March Funding Round

Applications for the March Discretionary Grants funding round must be received by 5pm, Wednesday 1st March 2017.

Community clubs, groups and organisations within the Waitomo District on a not-for-profit basis may be eligible to apply.Please read WDC’s Community Development Fund Policy to check your eligibility. Application forms and policy are available on our website.

Council Meeting Schedule February 2017

The following meeting of the Waitomo District Council is scheduled for February 2017:

Council Meeting - Tuesday 28 February 2017 at 9.00am 

An invitation is extended to members of the public to attend these meetings for observation purposes.  Any member(s) of the public wishing to speak at a Council meeting are required to gain approval from the Mayor at least two working days prior to the meeting.

A copy of the agenda will be available on Council’s Website two working days before the meeting.
