The WDC Customer Services and Visitor Hub, Waitomo District Library and Admin Building will be closed on on Monday 26 January for Auckland Anniversary. All waste transfer stations will also be closed.
We will still be available by phone on 0800 932 4357. More info

Metservice has issued a heavy rain watch and strong wind watch for our district. The watch is valid from 9am Wednesday, 21 January 2026 to 3am Thursday 22 January.

WDC Service information - Labour Day Monday 28 October

The Waitomo District Council Office is closed on Labour Day.   For all after hours services please call 0800 932 4357.  Our call centre operates 24/7.

  • Waitomo District Library is closed.
  • Waitomo District Aquatic Centre is open from 11am - 5pm.
  • Te Kuiti Visitor Information Centre i-SITE is open from 10am - 2pm.

District Transfer Stations

  • Waitomo District Landfill is closed.
  • Awakino/Mokau and Piopio Transfer Stations are closed.
  • Marokopa, Kinohaku and Benneydale Transfer Stations are open as per normal, from 9am - 1pm.

There is no change to the kerbside collection services.
