Planned Water shutdown notice - Tuesday 17 February 2026
A day-long water shutdown will be happening on Tuesday 17 February from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Boddies Terrace, Wesley Terrace, Tawa Street, Matai Street, William Street and Anzac Street.  This is to allow council contractor Schick Civil to install a new watermain line. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Our Queen Street office will be closed
    For urgent customer service enquiries please call 0800 932 4357. Help is on hand 24/7.

  • Waitomo District Library - closed

  • Waitomo District Landfill – closed

  • Piopio, Awakino and Maniaiti/Benneydale Transfer Stations – closed

  •  Waitomo District Aquatic Centre - open 12noon to 6pm

  • Te Kuiti i-SITE Visitor Information Centre - open 9am to 1pm

  • Kinohaku and Marokopa Transfer Stations - open 9am to 1pm

  • No changes to our Kerbside Refuse and Recycling Collection Services
