The WDC Customer Services and Visitor Hub, Waitomo District Library and Admin Building will be closed on on Friday 6 February for Waitangi Day. All waste transfer stations will also be closed.

Change of days to temporary Awakino Waste Transfer Station schedule
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to change the open days of the Awakino Waste Transfer Station for the last week of the extended holiday schedule.
It will now open from 9am to 1pm on the following days:
Tuesday 
Thursday
Friday
The normal schedule will for Awakino Transfer Station will resume Sunday 8 February 2026.

Waitomo District General Valuation Rolls

The Valuation Rolls for Waitomo District Council have been revised by Quotable Value Limited (as the Council’s valuation service provider).

This process was duly audited by the Office of the Valuer General.


The revised values are as at 1 September 2024 and will be open for public inspection, free of charge on our website or Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm at our Customer Service Centre, located at 160 Rora Street, Te Kūiti.


Valuation Notices for properties within the Waitomo District will be sent to the owners and ratepayers from 5 February 2025 by post or email, to the address provided to Council by the ratepayer and/or owner.


Pursuant to the provisions of the Rating Valuations Act 1998 and the Rating Valuations Regulations 1998 any objection(s) to the revised valuations must be lodged in writing, no later than 14 March 2025.
