Waitomo District Council, with the support of Ngāti Rōrā, have made a call to POSTPONE the official opening and blessing of the Mangaokewa Walkway Cultural Storyboards for the second time.This is due to the heavy rain forecast for the rest of the week. The ground will be wet and the weather looks worse for Friday (26 September 2025). It's important to us that this significant occasion is done correctly. We will schedule another blessing to be held later in the year when the weather has improved.

Ward Street Rail Crossing Closure – Sunday 5 October 2025
The rail crossing between Ward Street and Rora Street, Te Kūiti will be closed on Sunday 5 October 2025 to enable Kiwirail to undertake upgrades to the rail line.
The closure will be all day, from 5am to midnight.
