The WDC Customer Services and Visitor Hub, Waitomo District Library and Admin Building will be closed on on Friday 6 February for Waitangi Day. All waste transfer stations will also be closed.
We will still be available by phone on 0800 932 4357. More info

Water Alert Level 2 - PIopio
Due to operational issues and the current hot weather, Piopio township will move into Level 2 water restriction from tomorrow - Friday 6 February 2026.
Water conservation measures are required to reduce demand on the water treatment plant. We ask Piopio residents to be mindful of their water use.

There's $17k available for projects that encourage and support arts activities and participation.

Projects must have an arts or creative cultural focus and benefit the Waitomo District Community.
