On 17th August 2010, Waitomo District Council was advised by International Accreditation New Zealand that the Council had completed the Stage 2 Accreditation requirements as a Building Control Authority appointed under The Building Act.

The Accreditation Certificate confirmed that compliance with Regulation 17 was awarded on 10 September 2010.

The Department of Building and Housing confirmed through the independently facilitated accreditation process that Waitomo District Council had met the test required under Regulations applied through The Building Act.
