Kerbside collection for Piopio and Mōkau - 2 September
Due to the SH3/Awakino Gorge full road closure from 29 August to 1 September, kerbside collection for Piopio and Mōkau will take place on Wednesday, 2 September 2026. We apologise for the inconvenience and thankyou for your understanding.
Taumatamaire Road closed
We have closed Taumatamaire Road at the request of NZTA as the road is being used as a detour by unsuitable vehicles and trucks, and NZTA contractors are also being abused by drivers.
Respect goes a long way. Please respect our road workers and respect the road closures. Taumatamaire Road is a very windy, narrow, unsealed road and is not suitable for many vehicles. Taumatamaire Road will open again when NZTA completes their work in Awakino Gorge.
