Public notification: Military funeral on Sunday in Te Kūiti.

A forward notice that there will be firing of blank cartridges which produce loud bangs in support of a military funeral sometime between the hours of 1.30pm to 3pm on Sunday in Te Kūiti.

There will be soldiers marching around the town in support of the funeral ceremonial event with weapons, so please do not be alarmed or concerned.

There will also be a road closure at the intersections near the Les Munro Centre in both directions on Sunday 15 March. The closure will be in place at 12.30pm to 1pm. 

Soldier presence in Te Kūiti will be prominent from Saturday afternoon and will increase up to 100+ on the Sunday for the funeral.

Draft Exceptions Annual Plan 2014/15

The draft Plan includes proposals for the 2014/15 financial year. The proposals mostlydraft Annual Plan follow the direction set out for that financial year in the Long Term Plan 2012-22. Some adjustments and changes have been made in adherence to principals of prudent financial practices, affordability of rates and meeting the needs and demands of the District community.

This consultation is an opportunity for you to let us know your thoughts on the changes and the proposed budgets.

The draft Plan is open for public consultation over the period beginning Tuesday 8th April 2014 to Thursday 8th May 2014.  Information about this consultation will be published in the Waitomo News and on our website.


Review of Bylaws

Council is required to review its Bylaws every five years, as per the requirements of the Local Government Act 2002. At this time Council is reviewing the following Bylaws:

•    Dog Control Bylaw

•    Solid Waste Bylaw

•    Public Places Bylaw

•    Public Health and Safety Bylaw

You can make a submission on the Review of Bylaws during the period Tuesday 8th April to Thursday 8th May 2014. Information about this consultation will be published in the Waitomo News and on our website.
