Preparation for Cyclone Vaianu

Waitomo District Council staff, our Civil Defence team and contractors are in preparation mode as Cyclone Vaianu approaches, predicting to hit the east coast of the North Island on Sunday. A pre-emptive Waikato regionwide State of Emergency has been declared today. The move has been taken as a precaution given the potentially significant impacts that may be seen across the region from Cyclone Vaianu.
