Waitomo District Council contractor McIndoe Group are planning to carry out water leak detection in Maniaiti/Benneydale starting this Friday, 19 September 2025.
Leak detection helps identify where there could be faults in the network and can also help determine where water loss is occurring.
The leak detection investigation will occur from 8am to 5pm and although there will be a temporary interruption to water supply, it should not overly disrupt or interfere with normal usage.
In preparation for our beloved town clocks’ return, the tower itself will be receiving a facelift too.
Repainting of the tower will start Monday, 17 April 2023 and should only take a few days to complete (weather permitting).
