The WDC Customer Services and Visitor Hub, Waitomo District Library and Admin Building will be closed on on Monday 26 January for Auckland Anniversary. All waste transfer stations will also be closed.
We will still be available by phone on 0800 932 4357. More info

Weather Watch - Heavy rain and strong wind
Metservice has issued a heavy rain watch and strong wind watch for our district. The watch is valid from 1pm tomorrow Wednesday, 21 January 2026 to 6am Thursday 22 January.

Aquatic centre to open next week

Great news! We finally have an opening date for the Waitomo District Aquatic Centre!!

The opening of the pool and swimming season will commence on Friday 24 November 2023.

The painting of both pools have been completed and they are now in the curing stage.

The pools will be filled on Monday evening / Tuesday, with further preparations also planned.
