Due to operational issues and the current hot weather, Piopio township is in Level 2 water restriction.
Water conservation measures are required to reduce demand on the water treatment plant. We ask Piopio residents to be mindful of their water use.
Awakino Gorge closed due to slip
SH3 AWAKINO, WAIKATO - SLIP - UPDATE 1:30PM, WED 11 FEB
State Highway 3 is now CLOSED near Awakino River Bridge, following a slip. Contractors are on-site working to clear the road.
Delay travel through the Awakino area at this time. Consider an alternative route and allow additional time for travels.
