The WDC Customer Services and Visitor Hub, Waitomo District Library and Admin Building will be closed on on Friday 6 February for Waitangi Day. All waste transfer stations will also be closed.

Change of days to temporary Awakino Waste Transfer Station schedule
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to change the open days of the Awakino Waste Transfer Station for the last week of the extended holiday schedule.
It will now open from 9am to 1pm on the following days:
Sunday
Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
The normal schedule will for Awakino Transfer Station will resume Sunday 8 February 2026.

TARGA RALLY ROAD CLOSURES
The Targa Rally is coming to our district on Wednesday 25 May 2022.
This means there will be road closures. Please see the schedule below:

STAGE NAME - Marakopa/Awakino: 7.25am to 11.55am
Manganui Road (Rally Route), Waikawau
Mangatoa Road (Rally Route), Waikawau
Ordish Road, Crawford Road, Waikawau Road, Waikawau, Taumatamaire Road (Approx. 300m from intersection with main rally route roads.)

STAGE NAME Otewa: 10.15am to 14.45pm

Barber Road (Rally Route), Rangitoto

Sircombe Road (Rally Route), Otewa

Lurman Road (Rally Route), Otewa

Paewhenua Road (Rally Route), Otewa

Maihihi Road (Rally Route), Otewa
