The WDC Customer Services and Visitor Hub, Waitomo District Library and Admin Building will be closed on on Friday 6 February for Waitangi Day. All waste transfer stations will also be closed.

Water Alert Level 2 - PIopio
Due to operational issues and the current hot weather, Piopio township will move into Level 2 water restriction from tomorrow - Friday 6 February 2026.
Water conservation measures are required to reduce demand on the water treatment plant. We ask Piopio residents to be mindful of their water use.

A section of Seddon Street (behind the BP) in Te Kūiti is undergoing pavement re-construction. This is due to start on Monday 7 November.
Road access will be maintained, however traffic management will be in place.
