Public notification: Military funeral on Sunday in Te Kūiti.

A forward notice that there will be firing of blank cartridges which produce loud bangs in support of a military funeral sometime between the hours of 1.30pm to 3pm on Sunday in Te Kūiti.

There will be soldiers marching around the town in support of the funeral ceremonial event with weapons, so please do not be alarmed or concerned.

There will also be a road closure at the intersections near the Les Munro Centre in both directions on Sunday 15 March. The closure will be in place at 12.30pm to 1pm. 

Soldier presence in Te Kūiti will be prominent from Saturday afternoon and will increase up to 100+ on the Sunday for the funeral.

Proposal for Temporary Closure of Road/Street To Ordinary Vehicular Traffic - Waitomo District Christmas Parade

PURSUANT to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is hereby given that the Waitomo District Council, for the purpose of the Waitomo District Christmas Parade 2022 proposes to temporarily close the following roads/streets to ordinary vehicular traffic for the periods indicated:

 Date: Friday, 9 December 2022

 Period of Closure: 2.30pm to 8pm.

 

Streets/Roads:                Rora Street (from ward Street to South End Loop)

                                          King Street East (from Rora Street to Taupiri Street)

                                          Sheridan Street (from Rora Street to Taupiri Street)        

Alternative Route/s:      Taupiri Street, Te Kūiti.

 

Any person objecting to the proposal is called upon to lodge notice of objection and grounds thereof in writing, before 5pm Friday 11 November 2022 at the office of Waitomo District Council, Queen Street, Te Kūiti.
