Upcoming road closure of Walker Road, Te Kūiti – Saturday 17 May 2025

Walker Road will be closed on Saturday 17 May 2025 from 7am to 6pm to allow Bridge It NZ to install a bridge. Works have scheduled to be undertaken on Saturday due to the current roads works on Rangitoto Road. Walker Road will be closed 7.8km from the William Street and Walker Road intersection.

Drone flying over Kent Street

DRONE FLYING - Kent Street, Te Kūiti
Waitomo District Council’s roading staff will be undertaking a drone survey of Kent Street where the road has slumped. The survey will help us to better understand the issue, and will also help the geotechnical team to determine remedial options.
The survey will be completed (weather permitting) this week either on Wednesday 7 September, or Thursday 8 September.
This should not cause any inconvenience to residents, apart from a drone flying above your house or in the vicinity.
