Postponement again of official opening and blessing of the Mangaokewa Walkway Cultural Storyboards

Waitomo District Council, with the support of Ngāti Rōrā, have made a call to POSTPONE the official opening and blessing of the Mangaokewa Walkway Cultural Storyboards for the second time.This is due to the heavy rain forecast for the rest of the week. The ground will be wet and the weather looks worse for Friday (26 September 2025). It's important to us that this significant occasion is done correctly. We will schedule another blessing to be held later in the year when the weather has improved.

WDC Customer Services – Our Queen Street office closes at 4pm on Friday 23 September and reopens at 9am Tuesday, 27 September. Our call centre operates 24/7. For after hours services please call 0800 932 4357

Waitomo District Landfill and Awakino Transfer Station – Closed as usual
