Slip on Te Waitere Road – please drive safe

Council is aware of a significant slip on Te Waitere Road. Currently the road is down to one lane with priority give way traffic control in place. Given there is poor weather forecast towards the end of the week, we encourage those needing to pass through this site to be vigilant and drive safely and to the conditions.

King Street West Sewer Main Renewal works to start

4 May 2023, 4:28 PM

A project to replace a main sewer line in King Street West will soon commence, weather permitting. It is expected that physical works will start the week of Monday 8 May.

Work will involve the installation of a larger capacity sewer main from the Hill Street intersection to St Lukes Crescent. Several new sewer chambers will also be constructed for easier access and maintenance along the new main.

Work is expected to take about four weeks. Road closures are not anticipated, however road narrowing with traffic cones will be required.

Please drive carefully and to the conditions when in this area.

All efforts will be made to minimise any disruptions, but we cannot guarantee that these may not occur at isolated areas within the work area.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
