Water Alert Level 2 - PIopio
Due to operational issues and the current hot weather, Piopio township will move into Level 2 water restriction from tomorrow - Friday 6 February 2026.
Water conservation measures are required to reduce demand on the water treatment plant. We ask Piopio residents to be mindful of their water use.

A water shutdown will be happening from 9am to 3.30pm today along William Street and adjoining streets. This is to allow council contractor Schick Civil to commission a new watermain line. Thank you for your understanding.

Small facelift at New Te Kūiti Cemetery

The hedging surrounding the Garden of Memories at the New Te Kūiti Cemetery will soon receive a facelift. Large sections of the old conifer hedge has died, so this will be removed and replaced with camellia hedging and flower gardens.

Work will commence in the next few days weather permitting.
