The WDC Customer Services and Visitor Hub, Waitomo District Library and Admin Building will be closed on on Monday 26 January for Auckland Anniversary. All waste transfer stations will also be closed.
We will still be available by phone on 0800 932 4357. More info

Weather Watch - Heavy rain and strong wind
Metservice has issued a heavy rain watch and strong wind watch for our district. The watch is valid from 1pm tomorrow Wednesday, 21 January 2026 to 6am Thursday 22 January.

At a Council meeting on 10th October, Mayor Hanna made a presentation to Councillor Hickey who recently retired after nine years community service as a Councillor on Council.
