Leak detection in Maniaiti/Benneydale

Waitomo District Council contractor McIndoe Group are planning to carry out water leak detection in Maniaiti/Benneydale starting this Friday, 19 September 2025.

Leak detection helps identify where there could be faults in the network and can also help determine where water loss is occurring.

The leak detection investigation will occur from 8am to 5pm and although there will be a temporary interruption to water supply, it should not overly disrupt or interfere with normal usage.

Our community celebrating 125 years of guiding in the Waitomo Glowworm Caves


LIMESTONE, PEOPLE & TIME is a nine day, dynamic programme of music, commemorations, exhibitions, community party spots, dinners, a grand ball, screenings, story-telling, recorded histories, guided walks. Twenty four events and activities in and around the Waitomo Glowworm Cave and Village.


Most events are FREE. There is something going on for everyone, locals & visitors alike.
