Leak detection in Maniaiti/Benneydale

Waitomo District Council contractor McIndoe Group are planning to carry out water leak detection in Maniaiti/Benneydale starting this Friday, 19 September 2025.

Leak detection helps identify where there could be faults in the network and can also help determine where water loss is occurring.

The leak detection investigation will occur from 8am to 5pm and although there will be a temporary interruption to water supply, it should not overly disrupt or interfere with normal usage.

We also ask that you please conserve water as much as possible.

Skate Park fencing now complete

2 Jul 2015, 12:32 PM

A new perimeter barrier has been put in place around the Te Kuiti Skate Park in an effort to secure the property and deter people from mounting the fence to get access to the railway corridor – which is the property of KiwiRail.

As large sections of the fence had been vandalised over a period of time, the decision was taken to replace the fence with a more robust barrier.

The specification of the fence is intended to act as a deterrent to stop people from crossing over on to KiwiRail property and crossing the railway tracks.

We encourage pedestrians to use the designated crossings and the pedestrian over bridge which is the safest way to travel from Carroll Street to Rora Street.
