Road works - Centennial Park area

Construction work will begin Tuesday 24 June around Centennial Park area to install concrete islands and road line marking. The roads to be marked are: Te Kūiti Road, Park Street, William Street and Ngarongo Road. We ask kindly that this area be kept clear of vehicles and residents do not park on the road for the next couple of days. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Slip on Te Waitere Road – please drive safe

Council is aware of a significant slip on Te Waitere Road. Currently the road is down to one lane with priority give way traffic control in place. Given there is poor weather forecast towards the end of the week, we encourage those needing to pass through this site to be vigilant and drive safely and to the conditions.

Rollout of Ultra-Fast Broadband continues in Te Kuiti

11 Feb 2020, 1:26 PM

Chorus is currently completing works in Te Kuiti  as part of the roll out of the ultra-fast broadband network.

We are aware of instances where excavation work has had an impact on public and private property (i.e. grass berms and footpaths).  We would like to reassure our community that this work is being monitored and we are making every effort to minimise disruption to residents.

Affected areas will be fully reinstated by Chorus, however, this can only be completed once the fibre cable has been tested.   We are liaising with Chorus to ensure that all queries associated with reinstatement work are followed-up with the property owner in a timely manner.

We appreciate members of the community reporting their concerns to us.  If you have a complaint or concern please contact Waitomo District Council on 0800 932 4357 so that we can notify Chorus through our Service Request System.
