Leak detection in Maniaiti/Benneydale

Waitomo District Council contractor McIndoe Group are planning to carry out water leak detection in Maniaiti/Benneydale starting this Friday, 19 September 2025.

Leak detection helps identify where there could be faults in the network and can also help determine where water loss is occurring.

The leak detection investigation will occur from 8am to 5pm and although there will be a temporary interruption to water supply, it should not overly disrupt or interfere with normal usage.

We also ask that you please conserve water as much as possible.

Te Ara Tika project reaches milestone

16 Jul 2021, 3:00 PM

A big milestone this Sunday! The main span beams will be craned into position on top of the columns on Sunday between 8am and 11am.
The two main-span, prestressed concrete beams will be installed first, above the railway tracks, using a large, 220t crane. The crane will then be shifted to the Rora Street side from where all the ramp slabs on that side will be lifted into position the next day, Monday 19 July.
The remaining ramp slabs forming the spiral will be craned into position once work on the basketball half-court and surrounds beneath the beam has been completed. This is currently scheduled for 3 August 2021.
