Leak detection in Maniaiti/Benneydale

Waitomo District Council contractor McIndoe Group are planning to carry out water leak detection in Maniaiti/Benneydale starting this Friday, 19 September 2025.

Leak detection helps identify where there could be faults in the network and can also help determine where water loss is occurring.

The leak detection investigation will occur from 8am to 5pm and although there will be a temporary interruption to water supply, it should not overly disrupt or interfere with normal usage.

We also ask that you please conserve water as much as possible.

Feedback encouraged on WDC services and facilities

15 Jun 2021, 9:03 AM

Local residents are being encouraged to provide feedback on the services and facilities Waitomo District Council provides to its communities.

An invitation to complete WDC’s Residents’ Survey will soon hit letterboxes throughout the district, offering residents aged 18 years and older a chance to have their say.

The survey is carried out by independent research company Versus Research Ltd on behalf of Council.

All residents living in the district are eligible to undertake the survey.

The survey gauges opinions on the services and facilities delivered by WDC and will be posted to residents listed on the electoral roll.

General Manager Strategy and Environment Terrena Kelly says it is important Council understands the opinions of residents and what they think of Council’s performance over the last year.

“We deliver a number of services and facilities and this will help capture a range of views as to how we’re tracking.

“Responses will identify areas for improvement and help us prioritise our services over the long term,” she says.

The survey also measures satisfaction opinions for the 2020/2021 financial year.

The survey can be completed online or returned by post. Those who complete it before the close off date will be automatically entered in a draw to win a $250 New World Gift Card.

Personal information provided by respondents will not be made public.

“We’re encouraging residents to share their views with us.  It helps shape our plans and prioritise so it’s important we hear from you,” says Terrena.

Survey results will be included in WDC’s Annual Report published later in the year.

The survey needs to be returned by Friday, 16 July.  Residents who don’t receive a paper copy can pick one up from WDC’s office in Queen Street, Te Kuiti, Waitomo District Library, the Te Kuiti i-SITE or call 07 878 0800 to request a copy.
