Road works - Centennial Park area

Construction work will begin Tuesday 24 June around Centennial Park area to install concrete islands and road line marking. The roads to be marked are: Te Kūiti Road, Park Street, William Street and Ngarongo Road. We ask kindly that this area be kept clear of vehicles and residents do not park on the road for the next couple of days. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Slip on Te Waitere Road – please drive safe

Council is aware of a significant slip on Te Waitere Road. Currently the road is down to one lane with priority give way traffic control in place. Given there is poor weather forecast towards the end of the week, we encourage those needing to pass through this site to be vigilant and drive safely and to the conditions.

Thanks from Elected Members

On 9 June, Elected Members met to consider and deliberate on submissions received for WDC’s 10 Year Plan and the Rates Remission Policy. Council has decided to go with option 1 of the consultation topic, which is to defer harmonisation of water supply rates to Year 4 of the new 10YP.
There were also a number of submissions made outside of the consultation proposal and the consultation document. Elected members considered these as well and have agreed to further discuss and investigate incorporation of some of these into Council’s work programme where appropriate.
Our Mayor and Councillors would like to thank all those who took the time to make a submission.
Council will be formally adopting the 10 Year Plan 2021-31 on 29 June 2021.
