Leak detection in Maniaiti/Benneydale

Waitomo District Council contractor McIndoe Group are planning to carry out water leak detection in Maniaiti/Benneydale starting this Friday, 19 September 2025.

Leak detection helps identify where there could be faults in the network and can also help determine where water loss is occurring.

The leak detection investigation will occur from 8am to 5pm and although there will be a temporary interruption to water supply, it should not overly disrupt or interfere with normal usage.

We also ask that you please conserve water as much as possible.

Te Ara Tika open for safe crossing

20 Nov 2021, 1:04 PM

In a small karakia ceremony this morning, “Te Ara Tika - The Right Pathway” was blessed by Rev Barney Winikerei, allowing pedestrians to now safely cross the railway corridor in Te Kuiti.
The main items still to be completed are the weave patterns and narrative panels, which will come complete with QR codes and sound bites. Due to COVID restrictions, there has been a delay in completing this important design aspect of the overbridge. However, once completed we will be able to host an official opening some time in the New Year.
