The opening days and hours of Waitomo District Council’s Waste Transfer Stations and Landfill have been extended following a recent review.

General Manager Infrastructure Services, Shyamal Ram says the news will be a welcome relief to many residents who have been asking for extended hours.

“There were several factors that needed to be taken into account during the review, including staff resourcing and health and safety,” says Shyamal.

“But we have listened to our community and are pleased we are now in the position to extend our current service to include more days and hours for most of our transfer stations.”

The new operating hours come into effect on Saturday 20 August 2022.
