Water Alert Level 2 - PIopio
Due to operational issues and the current hot weather, Piopio township is in Level 2 water restriction.
Water conservation measures are required to reduce demand on the water treatment plant. We ask Piopio residents to be mindful of their water use.
Planned Water shutdown notice - Tuesday 17 February 2026
A day-long water shutdown will be happening on Tuesday 17 February from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Boddies Terrace, Wesley Terrace, Tawa Street, Matai Street, William Street and Anzac Street.  This is to allow council contractor Schick Civil to install a new watermain line. Thank you for your understanding.

Today our newly elected members met for the first time and were sworn in as Council for the new triennium.
Before friends, family, and supporters, each member made a declaration to serve in the interests of the community.
Allan Goddard, who is serving his fifth term on Council, was also named Deputy Mayor.
