The WDC Customer Services and Visitor Hub, Waitomo District Library and Admin Building will be closed on on Friday 6 February for Waitangi Day. All waste transfer stations will also be closed.
We will still be available by phone on 0800 932 4357. More info

Water Alert Level 2 - PIopio
Due to operational issues and the current hot weather, Piopio township will move into Level 2 water restriction from tomorrow - Friday 6 February 2026.
Water conservation measures are required to reduce demand on the water treatment plant. We ask Piopio residents to be mindful of their water use.

Colour in Stan to celebrate Shake Out!!

To encourage participation in Shake Out Day next month, we would love the children in our district to colour in Stan practising the earthquake drill.

Download a copy of our colouring in page here (PDF 2.58 MB) or pick up one from our library.

Decorate Stan and pop it back to our library, where it will be on display.

You will also be given a cool little pack of Stan coloured pencils when you hand in your page!

10 lucky children will also win a spot prize of a cute Stan soft toy!!!
