Slip on Te Waitere Road – please drive safe

Council is aware of a significant slip on Te Waitere Road. Currently the road is down to one lane with priority give way traffic control in place. Given there is poor weather forecast towards the end of the week, we encourage those needing to pass through this site to be vigilant and drive safely and to the conditions.

New stormwater line on Carroll Street, Te Kūiti

18 Mar 2024, 6:51 PM

Traffic management is currently in place along State Highway 3/ Carroll Street in Te Kūiti to allow Council’s contractor McIndoe Group to install a new stormwater line.

Work will also be undertaken to divert an existing line under the KiwiRail network to the new stormwater line.

The works are part of Council’s short-term goals to upgrade the stormwater network, which will improve resilience and help reduce the impact of future weather events.

The project is scheduled to be completed early next month.

While both traffic lanes on Carroll Street and the north end of Rora Street are open, the shoulders are closed, so please drive with caution while in this area.

We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
