Repairs underway on Rangitoto Road

6 May 2026, 4:32 PM

Nicholls and Uttinger Civil have been awarded the contract to undertake slip repairs on Rangitoto Road, Te Kūiti in response to the 2025 July storm event.

The site is located near Te Kūiti town approximately 200m south of the intersection with Esplanade and William Street.

To fix the slump,  the northbound lane and shoulder will be reconstructed from a solid foundation in the paddock below the road.

You will see that the site has been returned to one lane for traffic as Nicholls and Uttinger plan to construct Rangitoto Road under traffic light control for the duration of the works.

During the first week,  delays will be minimal but throughout the construction period road users may encounter delays up to 15 minutes maximum between the hours of 7am and 5pm, depending on the construction activity being undertaken.

Outside of construction hours the site will remain controlled under traffic lights but with minimal delays.

The works are due to be completed by the end of June 2026.

We ask for your patience and understanding while we undertake these works to restore full access for the residents and road users on Rangitoto Road.
